Assalamu alaykum,

There is a mistaken translation on page 15.

The translation: “Then the ascribed word and that word which is ascribed to it are not found together in other than the noun and verb. It is required therefore that speech (is comprised) of the two.”

A more accurate translation would be: “since the ascribed word and that word which is ascribed to it (musnad and musnad ilayh) are not found together in other than these two (i.e. jumla ismiyya and jumla fi’liyya) [note: not noun and verb, as tr above], and these two (i.e. musnad and musnad ilayh) [again not noun and verb] are required in kalam.”
