Attached is the Arabic biography of Sayyidatuna ‘A’ishah al-Siddiqah, Mother of the Believers, authored by ‘Allamah Sayyid Sulayman al-Nadwi (may Allah have mercy on him).
The book is arguably the best biography of ‘A’isha (may Allah be pleased with her) in Arabic and is also available in Urdu (and I believe English).

Posted by Suhel | January 25, 2010, 6:08 amUnfortunately, we don’t have a pdf of the English version. We are not even sure it exists. Someone recalled seeing it somewhere but cannot be certain.

The English translation has been published by Darul Isha’at in Pakistan.

You mentioned it to be “arguably the best biography of ‘A’isha (may Allah be pleased with her) in Arabic”.
Have you compared it to Shaykh Buti’s work on our Mother (may Allah be pleased with her)?
Posted by Husain | January 25, 2010, 7:34 pmWa ‘alaykum salam,
Actually, unfortunately, I have not read Shaykh Buti’s work and overlooked it when comparing the existing biographies. Would you have a .pdf of it?
The praise of this particular work is based upon the research of a fellow student who had to read through a number of works in Arabic for clarification on the marriage issue. I will try to ask him to provide a list of what he looked through and a better comparative analysis of them.
What I like more than anything about Shaykh Nadwi’s work is it’s style. Although the style can’t be translated exactly as it was in the original Urdu, not much is lost in this translation.
Are you aware of any other books on her sirah that are good?
