I was wondering the same thing. How does this Dar Ihya Turath edition compare with the Dar al Qalam edition?

Mawlana Abul Hasan, Jazakallahu khayran for sharing this with us. It is indeed heartening to see so many of the Arabic works of our great Deobandi masters being published from the Arab world in such good standards now. I wonder if anyone has compared this 12-volume Dar Ihya’ al-Turath edition with the bulky but beautiful 6-volume edition of Dar al-Qalam. If so, please share your thoughts with us.

Well, there are a number of hadith commentaries that are available in Urdu, most of them being collections of lecture notes from hadith lessons conducted for advanced students of hadith.

Amongst these collections is a partial collection of ‘Allamah ‘Uthmani’s lecture notes for Sahih Bukhari entitled Fadl al-Bari.

Even more interesting to note is that this two volume commentary on Bukhari, which covers the Books of Faith and Revelation mainly, has also been translated into English. The translation is quite good although it is very difficult to find and, as far as I know, also out of print.

I don’t believe such material is even aimed at laymen. This is highly academic material suitable for those ulema who specialize in Hadith and Fiqh. Most Arabic works that have been translated into Urdu deal with morals and spirituality as laymen need them most. Allah knows best.

Jazaakallaahu Khayr, i’ve been looking through this kitaab, and i came across what i think must be a printing mistake on page 40, the part regarding a person having both eemaan and kufr in him at one time, in the first line of that part it says “wa shukrun wa tawheed” rather than “wa shirkun wa tawheed”.
